Pithoragarh base hospital to start operating soon: Kumar

The Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar has said that soon the people of Pithoragarh would start availing the benefit of the base hospital. Kumar inspected the base hospital during his visit to Pithoragarh district on Thursday. He said that initially the Pithoragarh medical college would be operated by the Medical Education department and a team of doctors would be deployed at the base hospital. Kumar directed the officers to make arrangements for an additional 100 beds in the hospital. The secretary also directed the Peyjal Nigam to finish the work of water supply to the hospital within a week. The principal of the Pithoragarh medical college demanded that 1.87 hectare land of Silk Development department lying adjacent to the medical college should be handed over to the college. The district magistrate of Pithorahgarh Reena Joshi, joint director of Medical Education department Dr MK Pant and others were present on the occasion.
