Weather changes bring viral fever months before expected

Climate change is affecting the general health of the people.  While the mercury level is rising due to clear sunlight during the day, the temperature is dipping considerably after sunset, resulting in considerable variation in the temperature. In such a situation, in Chamba, people across age groups ranging from children to elders have started falling ill with viral fever. On Thursday, the Health department team went to a private school in Chamba and conducted a health test. During investigation, many children were found to be suffering from viral fever.

Due to change in the weather viral fever is spreading in Chamba city area. The children are the ones getting afflicted by the ailment the most. Due to this, the number of viral fever patients is also increasing in the Chamba community health entre private hospitals of the area. On Thursday, the team of Chamba community health centre went to a private school in the city and conducted health check-up of 44 children. During this, symptoms of viral fever were found in many children. At the same time, patients suffering from viral fever are also coming to the OPD of the Chamba CHC. If experts are to be believed, such a situation prevails generally during May-June.

This time in February itself, a lot of viral fever patients are being diagnosed. It is also believed that more than normal heat in the weather is responsible for this situation. The community health centre in-charge Dr Pukhraj Singh said that the patients of viral fever are increasing due to the change in the weather. Patients have been asked to be careful and take medicines on time.

According to Ranichauri meteorological department, there is a lot of difference between day and night temperatures in February. On Wednesday, February 15, the maximum temperature was 20.2 degree Celsius, which is five degree Celsius above normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 2.2 degrees Celsius.
