A shop of electronic items was fully gutted in a fire incident caused by suspected short circuit late Friday night in Haldwani. The shop owner claimed that articles worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire. On being informed of the fire, a police team and fire service officers rushed to the shop and doused the fire because it could cause more damage.
A senior police officer from Banbhoolpura police station Sadique Hussain informed that the fire had started at the shop located near the police station at around 1.15 am. “The fire brigade officials were informed. They reached in time and doused the fire before it spread to nearby areas,” the police officer added.
