Char Dham Yatra registrations cross 2 lakh

With more than a month to go before the start of the Char Dham Yatra slated to start on April 22, more than two lakh people have already registered for the pilgrimage. The registration for the Char Dham Yatra was started on February 21 and according to officials, so far a total of 2,03,324 people have registered for Badrinath and Kedarnath temples. These include 1,11,871 who have registered for Kedarnath and 91,453 who have registered for Badrinath.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State authorities have provided four options for people to register for the Char Dham Yatra this year.
Yatra registration is available online, over the phone, via WhatsApp and through a mobile app. A total of 1,52,024 people have registered online so far while 26,255 have registered through mobile phone application and 15,045 have registered through WhatsApp. Devotees can register by visiting https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. Alternatively, they can register via WhatsApp by sending “Yatra” to +91 8394833833.
The government has also issued helpline numbers for travel-related information and suggestions for devotees. These helplines include Char Dham’s toll-free number 1364 and 0135-1364 (for other States), Char Dham’s control room number 0135-2559898, 2552627, disaster management number 0135-276066, 1070 (toll-free), etc. Calling these numbers will enable devotees to get the aid and information they require.
It will be recalled that the Char Dham Yatra will begin this year on April 22 with the reopening of the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri followed by reopening of Kedarnath on April 25 and Badrinath on April 27. The authorities have also made arrangements for proper health checks of the people arriving in the State for the Char Dham Yatra. Officials claim that the arrangements ensured include posting of doctors and medical professionals along with adequate quantities of essential medicines and items among other aspects.
