More rain in snowfall likely in parts of State today

Light rain and snowfall are forecast in parts of five districts on Wednesday. Meanwhile, various parts of the State including the summer capital Gairsain experienced light to moderate rainfall with snowfall being reported in the higher reaches.
According to the State meteorological centre, very light to light rain/ thunderstorm/ snowfall are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of the State on Wednesday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the State on Tuesday were 30.3 degrees Celsius and 15.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.4 degrees Celsius and 13.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.5 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.4 degrees Celsius and 9.3 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. With light to moderate rain being reported from various parts of the State, 10.5 millimetres was recorded in Lakhamandal, 8.5 millimetres in Jageshwar, seven millimetres in Kirtinagar, six millimetres in New Tehri, 5.5 millimetres in Devidhura, five millimetres in Gangolihat, four millimetres in Badkot and three millimetres each in Badkot, Dunda and Pratapnagar.
