Finance minister Agarwal uses local language, attire

The Finance minister Prem Chand Agarwal tried to evoke the spirit of ‘Uttarakhandiyat’ from Bharadisain Assembly building while delivering the budget of the State on Tuesday. The minister started his speech in local dialects (Garhwali and Kumaoni) and also congratulated the people of the State on the occasion of Phyunli. He also wore the Pahadi topi and local attire to hammer home the point that the State government is focused on the development of the mountainous parts of the State.
It is worth mentioning here that the Dhami government is facing criticism from various quarters on neglect of Gairsain. Experts opine that use of local language and attire is an attempt by the Finance minister to negate the opinion that the government is not serious on Gairsain.
