The Uttarakhand Congress passed a condemnation motion on Saturday in protest against the disqualification of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi from the parliament.

The motion was passed in a meeting of the State Congress held at the PCC headquarters. The vice president of the PCC, Mathura Dutt Joshi presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion Joshi said that developments are not good for democracy in the country. He said that the constitution drafted by Baba Saheb Ambedkar is being murdered by the Modi government.

Joshi said that the reins of the country are in hands of the communal forces which supported the British during the freedom movement. The chief spokesperson of the Congress party Garima Dasauni said that the Congress respects the judiciary but the union government is acting in a vindictive manner.
