In a novel gesture of support for Rahul Gandhi under Jai Bharat satyagraha movement, the Uttarakhand Congress leaders and activists climbed the khait parvat in Tehri district situated at an altitude of 10,500 feet. They also protested against the anti-people policies of the BJP-helmed state government. The movement went on for two days in the high-altitude place from April 6. Several state Congress leaders, including MLAs and Tehri district Congress chief, were present during the two-day movement. The Congress leaders alleged that during the BJP rule in the state, the essential items like cooking gas, drinking water and electricity are becoming expensive.
