Rainy spell over, dry weather forecast across State

With the rainy spell over in the State, the State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to rise a bit especially in the plains. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear skies on Monday with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 32.7 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33.2 degrees Celsius and 12.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.1 degrees Celsius and 9.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.6 degrees Celsius and 9.7 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light rain was reported in some parts of the State on Sunday with six millimetres being recorded in Jauljibi, 5.5 millimetres in Bhainsiya-Channa, three millimetres in Jageshwar, two millimetres in Thal and 1.5 millimetres in Bageshwar. The respite from the warm weather provided by the rainy weather in the recent past is on the wane with warmer temperatures being experienced not only during the sunny daytime but also during the nights.
