DGP launches his book Cyber Encounters in Delhi

Uttarakhand director general of police Ashok Kumar launched his book Cyber Encounters at the Seminar Hall of IIT Delhi on Thursday hosted by the IIT Delhi Alumni Association. The book is also co-authored by former DRDO scientist OP Manocha and its foreword is written by noted actor Amitabh Bachchan. The book gives an account of real cybercrimes relating to fake identity on social media, ransomware, card cloning, sextortion and phishing among others which are presented in the form of 12 fascinating stories.

The book makes people aware of cyber crimes that have become quite prevalent these days highlighting the modus operandi of cyber criminals in committing such crimes. Besides this, it also provides valuable cyber tips on how to prevent being a victim of cyber crimes. Kumar also highlighted the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in combating cybercrime in present times and said that awareness of such crime is quite crucial. 

Manocha also discussed various types of cyber threats and their impact on individuals, organisations and nations at the event. Several dignitaries including the co-founder of BOAT company Aman Gupta, national cyber security coordinator Rajesh Pant and police commissioner of Delhi, Sanjay Arora among others were also present at the event.
