The 15-member team of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) team of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) began its survey on various aspects of the land subsidence affected area of the Joshimath along with the local administration on Sunday.
The officials said that the survey will be conducted for a period of four days, after which technical support will be provided for preparing a recovery construction plan covering aspects including housing and rehabilitation in Joshimath, local infrastructure, public buildings, civic amenities, drinking water, sanitation, tourism and disaster risk mitigation.
The PDNA team headed by joint secretary Kunal Satyarthi also held a meeting late on Saturday evening with the officials of the district administration. Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana informed the team in detail about the disaster relief works in the subsidence affected areas.
