SDSUU to start agriculture department soon: VC

Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUU) has begun the process to start BSc Agriculture from the coming academic session. For this, the vice chancellor of the university, NK Joshi inspected the land and the building. Along with this, the university has decided to start various employment-oriented vocational courses including LED bulb manufacturing.
The SDSUU vice chancellor held a meeting on Saturday regarding infrastructural resources to start BSc Agriculture at the headquarters of the university. The VC inspected the land and building to start the new course. Joshi said that sufficient land and building facilities are available at the university headquarters to start the agriculture department. He issued instructions to start BSc Agriculture in the headquarters from the next academic session. He further said that LED bulb manufacturing, aquarium making, succulent plant preparation, hydroponics, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, organic and natural farming, agri business management and digital marketing, entrepreneurial agriculture certificate/diploma courses will also be started to connect students with employment. The VC said that an international seminar on rural development and entrepreneurship will be organised by the department of botany in the university’s Rishikesh campus in September. More than 200 researchers from different states of the country and abroad are expected to participate in this seminar, he said.
