Bring all departments associated with public utilities under one umbrella: CM

The Uttarakhand government is planning to make the online process associated with public services simpler and bring all the departments concerned with public utilities under one umbrella. An order regarding this was given by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officers concerned while taking a review of the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) and Industries department at the secretariat on Thursday. The focus of the meeting was the measures taken by these departments for achieving targets of the Empowered Uttarakhand @ 25 mission. Dhami said that more public utilities should be included in the right to service and a single platform should be devised for all services.
He directed that the problem of mobile phone connectivity in some areas should be resolved. The CM said that the benefit of all government schemes should reach everyone and the eligible should get all the information on click of a mouse. He stressed on preparation of long term schemes in view of future needs.
In the review of the department of industries the CM said that work on the central government assisted projects should be expedited. He said that the industrial sector has large scale employment opportunities and more and more youth should be linked with the self employment opportunities by their skill development. The CM said that the major projects which are not moving ahead with the desired pace would be reviewed. He said that the industrial activities in the State should be increased and more investors should come to Uttarakhand. Dhami added that proper and judicious use of government land should be done and all the works should be in accordance with the master plan.
In the meeting the CM was informed that 485 services are being taken to the people with the help of the ‘Apani Sarkar’ portal and out of them 265 are under the Right to Service. Efforts are being made to include more services under the Right to Service and increase the sources of revenue in the field of information technology.
The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagauli, director general of Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) Durgesh Pant, additional secretary VK Jogdande, director general of industries Rohit Meena, ITDA director Nitika Khandelwal and others.
