As per the decision taken by the State government, the beneficiaries will receive their pensions being paid by the social welfare department on the first day of every month. At present, the number of such pensioners is 7.62 lakh. The pension amount will be disbursed to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT on the first day of every month. The State additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan said that the pension due on April will be disbursed by May 15.
The pensioners say that the payment of their pensions gets delayed and it often happens that pension does not come even after six months. Such delay in disbursement of pensions forces the pensioners to make rounds of the pension office in vain. This matter recently came to the notice of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the CM discussed it with the ADC Anand Bardhan and the director general information department Banshidhar Tiwari and officers of the State welfare department. The CM then asked the department to ensure that the pensions get into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the first day of each month.
