As per the decision taken by Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, the Volvo buses will start plying from Dehradun to Delhi from 4 am. Previously, the first Volvo bus for Delhi used to leave Dehradun at 5 am. The fare of Volvo bus from Dehradun to Delhi is Rs 940 and 90 seats of these buses are booked online. Twenty nine Volvo buses are now operating between Dehradun and Delhi. Of them, 25 buses run straight between Dehradun and Delhi while two of them run via Rishikesh and two go to Gurugram through Delhi. The last Volvo bus from Dehradun to Delhi leaves at 12 am while the same from Delhi to Dehradun leaves at 1 am.
The people’s craze for Volvo buses keeps surging as compared to Shatabdi Express and Jana Shatabdi Express trains. Shatabdi Express takes five and half hours to reach Delhi from Dehradun and Jan Shatabdi Express takes six hours to cover the distance. However, Volvo buses cover the distance between Dehradun and Delhi in four and half hours.
The Volvo buses from Dehradun to Delhi run at the interval of one hour or one and half hours, starting at 4 am and continuing till 12 am.
