The level of mercury is set to rise especially in the plain regions. At the same time light rain is forecast in some parts of the mountainous regions today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorm is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State on Monday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies today. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 38 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 37.8 degrees Celsius and 20.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30 degrees Celsius and 18.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.3 degrees Celsius and 12.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27 degrees Celsius and 13.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
