Rain & thunderstorm likely in 5 districts, dry weather in remaining parts

The provisional State capital Dehradun and other areas in the plains are expected to witness a clear day today though rainfall and thunderstorms are likely in five mountainous districts. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
The meteorological centre has further forecast that Dehradun is likely to witness mainly clear skies. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 33.8 degrees Celsius and 19.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.1 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.6 degrees Celsius and 12.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Very light to light rain was experienced in some parts of the State on Saturday with 1.5 millimetres in Karnprayag and 2.5 millimetres each in Tapovan and Kausani.
