DGP launches SRCC’s Project Uttara for financial literacy

Vittshala, the financial literacy cell of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi inaugurated its outstation project, Project Uttara Phase IV in the presence of Uttarakhand’s director general of police Ashok Kumar here on Saturday. With a dedicated team of 14 members under the guidance of two teachers, the target areas of Vittshala under this project this year are Naugaon and Badkot in Uttarkashi district.
Inaugurating the financial literacy project, the DGP said that financial security is also important along with financial literacy. He stressed on the need for additional vigilance during financial transactions which take place digitally. He appealed to the students to also raise awareness among the public on important aspects of cyber security while working on financial literacy. The students asked him various questions related to cyber security responding to which Kumar gave them useful tips.
Earlier, project leader Ayush Dwivedi informed that the SRCC Delhi undertakes financial literacy programmes in various districts of Uttarakhand every year. Members of the general public are provided information about budgeting, saving and taxation during this project. In the current phase, the team will raise financial awareness in Naugaon and Badkot areas of Uttarkashi districts through means like street plays and personal interaction with the locals. SRCC associate professor Ashwini Kumar and assistant professor Shefali were also present on the occasion.
