Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) in collaboration with Botanical Survey of India and Forest department, Mussoorie division observed the World Environment Day at the Government Inter College Maldevta on Monday.
Addressing the programme, USERC director Anita Rawat spoke on the harmful effects of increasing plastic pollution on human life around the world and provided information about various programmes related to science education and environmental education being carried out by USERC across the State.
Head of the Botanical Survey of India and senior scientist, SK Singh explained the importance of biodiversity for a sustainable future and told about the various medicinal plants found in the State.
