Expressing her dissatisfaction over the delayed work in Rishikesh related to the G20 summit sc heduled to commence there on June 26, the Dehradun district magistrate Sonika directed the officials concerned to complete all projects in four days. The DM on Friday inspected the progress of ongoing work in Rishikesh on the stretch from Natraj Chowk to Triveni Ghat via Kotwali ahead of the three-day summit. She subsequently held a meeting after the inspection with the officials and contractors of all concerned departments including the zonal and sector officers nominated for the G20 summit at Triveni Ghat.
She instructed the officials to expedite the work and increase the workforce to ensure the work is finished by July 20. She directed the officials of the Municipal Corporation of Rishikesh (MCR) to carry out cleaning work at Triveni Ghat and directed MDDA to complete the decoration, painting, and facade work by June 20. She instructed the officers to monitor the progress of works daily at their own level and directed them to put the number of each contractor at construction sites. She also instructed the department concerned to speed up the pole shifting works as per the plan. She directed the officers of the concerned departments to submit the progress report on a daily basis.
