Orange alert- thunderstorms with intense showers and squall likely in State today

The State meteorological centre has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, intense showers and squall (60-70 kmph gusting up to 80 kmph) at isolated places in the State on Sunday. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in the State today.
Dehradun is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy skies with rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and squall (60-70 kmph gusting up to 80 kmph) likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Saturday were 38.8 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 38.6 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.6 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 28.9 degrees Celsius and 16.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light rain was recorded in some parts of the State with 11.5 millimetres in Thalisain and four millimetres in Champawat.
