The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has been honoured with a national award for excellence in cost management. The award was given at the 18th National Award for Excellence in Cost Management programme organized by ICMAI at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Friday. In the ceremony UPCL’s finance officer and deputy general manager (finance) Amit Kansal, and DGM finance NK Kandpal received the award on behalf of the corporation.
ICMAI is a statutory body which organises national awards every year to promote innovative initiatives related to cost and financial management in manufacturing and services sector. In March 2023, UPCL applied for nomination for this award and after reviewing various parameters by the screening committee, UPCL was selected for the second award in the field of excellence in cost management.
The director (finance) Naveen Kumar Gupta said that this award reflects better management and best working style in the financial sector and indicates the positive efforts made by the department in the direction of cost management.
The MD of UPCL said it is a matter of great pride for the corporation to be selected for the national award by ICMAI and congratulated the director (finance) and his team for this achievement.
