The Police will ensure proper checking in crowded places by deploying bomb disposal teams in the Dehradun district as part of security arrangements on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha on Thursday. The respective police station in-charges will also ensure that animal sacrifices are done only at the traditional places only.
The senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar stated this in a meeting organised with all police station in-charges and senior police officials of the district ahead of Eid. He said that all officials concerned must take necessary steps to ensure that communal harmony and law and order are maintained during the celebration of Eid. He said that animal sacrifices should not be done near sensitive and religious places under any circumstances. The SSP said that all police stations and Chowki in-charges and other officials concerned have been instructed to constantly inspect their respective areas throughout the day to keep a vigilant eye on miscreants.
He said that since a large number of people of the Muslim community offer prayers on Eid, the police have prepared a route plan for Thursday and will divert the routes around Eidgahs to ensure people celebrating Eid can offer Namaz without any inconvenience. He said that the police have conducted several meetings with the representatives of the Muslim community and appealed to them to celebrate the festival in peace and harmony. He said that the police have also asked them to inform the police immediately if they notice anything that can potentially disturb law and order in any area of the city.
