Amid speculations about his resignation, the officer of Indian Administrative Services, Saurabh Gaharwar took charge of the district magistrate (DM) of Rudraprayag on Monday. Interacting with the media persons after joining the DM Rudraprayag said that ensuring a safe, smooth and orderly Yatra to Kedarnath and completion of the ongoing construction works in Kedarnath which is the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are among his top priorities. He said that in view of the Monsoon period, the road network in the sensitive and areas of landslides would be kept open and for it availability of labourers and machines would be ensured. The new DM of Rudraprayag added augmenting health services and educational facilities in the district would be his focus area. It is pertinent to mention here that Gaharwar is a qualified radiologist.
