In latest news from Dehradun, an important Cabinet meeting is set to be held in the State Secretariat during which several proposals are likely to be approved. This will be the first Cabinet meeting in the month of July. It is also being assumed that detailed deliberations may be held on the sensitive Uniform Civil Code draft. Among the proposals which may be discussed before approval include the creation of new posts of director general for the agriculture and floriculture departments and formulation of a State drone policy and e-waste management policy. At the same time, expansion of Mahalaxmi Kit project related to the women empowerment and child development department may figure during the meeting aside from the proposal to distribute sugar and salt over the Public Distribution System with 50 per cent subsidy. The government sources further informed that the proposals to create a separate cadre of the specialist doctors and to set up cath labs might figure during the meeting.
