CM welcomes Kanwadiyas by washing their feet

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the Kanwad Yatris by washing the feet of some Yatris in a programme organised at Om Bridge near Dam Kothi in Haridwar on Saturday. He also presented Gangajal to the Kanwadiyas on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Dhami said that Haridwar is the centre of faith of the entire country. He said that Kanwad Yatra is of special significance in the month of Shrawan. The CM said that the State government is happy to welcome the Kanwad Yatris and is working to make the Yatra easy and safe.
The CM said that the State government has set up health camps, toilets, parking, tin sheds and resting places for the Yatris. He said that last year about four crore Kanwadiyas had come to Uttarakhand and this year also large numbers of pilgrims are expected to arrive in the State.
The CM said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity for Uttarakhand under his guidance grand and divine Kedarnath has been constructed. Work on the master plan of Badrinath is going on. The CM said that a network of roads is being laid in the State and the State government is working in the conservation of Sanatan culture.
