Congress to hold Satyagraha today against harassment of Rahul Gandhi

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that central agencies are being used to harass the leaders of opposition parties in the country. Addressing a meeting at the headquarters of the State party office on Tuesday Mahara said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is consistently raising questions on the relationship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani in different forums due to which the government is taking wicked measures against him. This conspiracy manifested in disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from parliament in the defamation case, he claimed.
Mahara said that the development of the State has stalled in the last seven years and corruption and inflation is at its peak. The BJP government which talks about zero tolerance on corruption has started selling the jobs and it has been exposed now.
The Uttarakhand co-in-charge of the Congress, Deepika Pandey said that the law and order situation in the State has reached abysmal levels and neither women nor girls are safe in the BJP government. She said that the incidents of atrocities on women in different parts of the State in the last eight months are evidence of this. Pandey said that women in all parts of the State are not feeling safe.
The Mahanagar president of Congress party, Jaswinder Singh Gogi said that the new conspiracies are being hatched to create divisions in the society and there is an atmosphere of fear among the people.
The meeting was organised for preparation of the party for the Satyagrah being organised by the party at Gandhi Park. The Congress has given a call for organising Satyagrah on Wednesday in protest against the harassment of the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by the Modi government. The programme would be organised in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi from 10 am to 5 pm. The Vice president organisation Mathura Dutt Joshi, Surya Kant Dhasmana, Vijay Saraswat, president of Women Congress Jyoti Rautela, chairperson of Congress Sewa Dal Hema Purohit and others were present in the meeting.
