The Union minister of State for Defence, Ajay Bhatt visited the Station Canteen and Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) polyclinic in Dehradun on Saturday. In the Station Canteen, Bhatt interacted with the customers and appreciated the efforts of the management in utilising technology to gauge customer satisfaction. He said that all canteens must undertake similar initiatives and install Clientele Satisfaction Kiosks and Access Control Software like Station Canteen of Dehradun.
The MoS praised the efforts towards inventory management and the manner in which the fast moving consumer goods have been displayed. Bhatt also visited the ECHS Polyclinic during his visit. Appreciating the fact that the registration counters have been increased from two to six and the separate counters to cater for senior citizens, war disabled and the system of continuous registration and online referrals, Bhatt said that such efforts to improve patient care go a long way in raising the morale of those who have given their best years to the nation. He also appreciated the feedback kiosk which records all parameters of patient care and provides feedback to the decision makers to improve procedures and systems.
The ECHS polyclinic caters to a total of 1, 36,571 veterans and families and it has nine medical officers, one Medical Specialist, one Gynaecologist and two Dentists. The clinic is visited by about 700 to 800 patients per day.
