All cities to be developed as ‘Green City-Clean City’, says CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State government has decided to develop every city as ‘Green City-Clean City’. He said this after inaugurating four development schemes worth Rs 2435 lakh at an event in the Municipal Corporation of Rudrapur on Sunday. He also announced that a sum of Rs two crore will be provided for improvement of roads in the Rudrapur municipal area. Dhami said that the projects worth more than Rs 24 crore inaugurated on Sunday will play an important role in the development of Rudrapur and help get rid of garbage. The projects inaugurated by the CM include road constructions in various areas of the city, late Subhash Chaturvedi memorial hall work in the municipal corporation and compressed biogas plant.
Stating that these works are very important for the area, Dhami said that in the future Rudrapur will get rid of garbage heaps. He said that under the Swachchh Bharat mission, the State government is aiming to rid the cities of garbage heaps in the next two-three years and convert them into green zones. He appealed to the citizens to start the disposal of garbage at their homes while also focusing on reusing and making something creative from waste. The State government has decided to develop every city as a ‘Green City-Clean City’. The government is also committed to ensuring the all-round development of the State, he added. Development of the Rudrapur area is among the priorities of the State government. Construction of the Rudrapur ring road is being undertaken in accordance with a long standing demand while the construction of a multi-storey parking lot is also being undertaken to resolve traffic jam. A network of four-lane roads has been laid from Rudrapur to various cities. Soon, the construction of the highway between Afzalgarh and Najibabad will further reduce the distance between Dehradun and Rudrapur. The CM further said that phased work has been started to resolve the water logging problem in Rudrapur. Union minister of State Ajay Bhatt and Rudrapur mayor Rampal Singh also expressed their views on the occasion.
