The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will stage protests in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand on Tuesday against the critical situation in Manipur, said the State coordinator of the party Jot Singh Bisht. He said that several people have lost their lives and many have been injured since ethnic violence broke out in Manipur about three months ago. The condition there is worsening with time, especially for women, considering which, the central government should have enforced the president’s rule but no concrete decision is taken in the matter, said Bisht. He said that the senior AAP leader and Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Monday for the rest of the monsoon session of parliament for repeatedly violating the instructions of the chairman. “Singh was only demanding to say a few words about Manipur’s tragedy. It is unfortunate that an MP was suspended who was just raising his voice against the ongoing injustice in Manipur. The national convenor and Delhi’s chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a nationwide protest on Tuesday which will be conducted in every district of the State too,” said Bisht.
