Very heavy rain likely in five districts today

The provisional State capital Dehradun witnessed spells of rain in various parts on Tuesday while various other parts of the State witnessed light to moderate rain. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Nainital, Champawat, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts on Wednesday.
It has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the State’s districts today
Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies today. Heavy rain / thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 33.2 degrees Celsius and 26.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31 degrees Celsius and 26.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.3 degrees Celsius and 15.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.4 degrees Celsius and 17.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 64.5 millimetres rain Sahastradhara area of Dehradun, 39.5 millimetres in Vikasnagar and 14 millimetres rain in Narendranagar on Tuesday.
