The director of the Uttarakhand Culture department Beena Bhatt said that people of any age can be part of the native languages training workshop which will be organised in the month of August at the Himalayan Culture Centre (HCC). She said that in the present time few people are connected with the regional languages. Therefore, to raise awareness among the people about the regional languages, the department is organising a folk language training workshop at HCC, she added.
She further informed that people of any age can enroll to learn the languages in the workshop. A workshop will be conducted every Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM to promote and teach the Garhwali, Kumaoni and Juansari languages. Experienced teachers in regional languages will be hired to teach the languages at HCC, she added.
Bhatt further said that HCC is the first cultural centre in the State which will continue to present a live picture of the rich cultural heritage while also working towards passing on the cultural heritage to future generations.
