Edu dept to deploy 228 new teachers in govt schools

The education department will soon give appointment letters to the selected candidates of the LT teacher recruitment examination conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission. The education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that 228 teachers will be appointed in the schools within a month. He said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hand over appointment letters to the selected candidates in a programme. The date of the programme will be finalised after consultation with the CM, he informed. The minister added that the process of recruitment of assistant teachers on 262 vacant posts of Arts teachers as per the orders of Uttarakhand High Court (HC) will also start soon. He said that the process of verification of the documents of selected candidates has been completed.

 The minister said that the appointment of the new teachers will be made on the vacant posts in the schools located in the inaccessible areas of the State.

 The department will give appointment letters to 69 teachers in Hindi subject, 38 in Science, 36 in Mathematics, 35 in English, 24 in physical education, 12 general studies, six in Sanskrit, four in home science and one each in commerce, music, Urdu and Punjabi subjects.

 The minister added that 917 assistant teachers have already been appointed in different schools of the State.
