In latest Dehradun news, the State cabinet fixed the minimum age of admission for class I at six years. Now, the students who have completed six years on April 1 or before this date can seek admission for class I. As per the National Education Policy (NEP), the foundational stage consists of five years of learning opportunities for all children (between 3 to 8 years) that includes three years of preschool education followed by Classes 1 and 2. The cabinet also decided that 25 per cent of the posts of the principals of the degree colleges would be appointed directly. These posts used to be filled through departmental promotion.
