No respite- heavy rain likely in parts of seven districts today

Heavy rains continued to cause disruption and damage in various parts of the State on Sunday. There appears to be no respite from inclement weather as the State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall in parts of seven districts on Monday. The centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts today. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Further, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, one or two of which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Sunday were 29.6 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.2 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.9 degrees Celsius and 15.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.1 degrees Celsius and 18.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 30.3 millimetres rain in Dehradun, 27 millimetres in Bazpur, 22.5 millimetres in Kashipur, 21.5 millimetres in Laksar and 20 millimetres in Jaspur on Sunday.
