The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued 80 people from their flooded homes in severely waterlogged Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday. Many cities of Udham Singh Nagar are flooded for the past three days due to heavy rainfall in the district. The officials said that several homes were flooded in the Kashipur area on Thursday due to which many people were trapped inside their homes. After receiving information, the district disaster management department asked SDRF to carry out relief and rescue operations in the area. The officials said that the SDRF teams started the rescue operation in the morning using rafts and ropes and other equipment to rescue trapped people from their houses. A total of 80 people were rescued and sent safely to shelters where the district administration provided them required help, added officials.
