189 roads reported blocked across State

With light to heavy rains continuing in various parts of the State, a number of roads have remained blocked by landslide debris and due to other factors in various parts of the State. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), at least 189 roads were blocked in different districts on Friday evening.
In the Rudraprayag district, the Rishikesh-Kedarnath national highway 107 and the Gaurikund-Kedarnath bridle path were open for movement though one national highway and 13 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. Five State highways, three main district roads and 45 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the Pauri district. In Dehradun district, the national highway 707A was blocked by debris at the 136 kilometre mark while one State highway and 22 rural motor roads were also blocked in the district. The Rishikesh-Gangotri and Rishikesh-Yamunotri national highways were open in the Uttarkashi district though one State highway, two main district roads and nine rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. In Tehri district the Rishikesh-Chamba-Dharasu national highway was blocked by debris near Bagaddhar while one national highway, two State highway, one main district road and 15 rural motor roads were also reported to be blocked in the district. The Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway in Chamoli district was open for movement while one other district road and 23 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the district. One rural motor road was blocked in Almora district while one State highway and 14 rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in Nainital district. One main district road and six rural motor roads were blocked in Bageshwar district whereas three rural motor roads were blocked in Champawat district. Nine rural motor roads were reported to be blocked in the Pithoragarh district.
