CM hoists tricolour, calls for collective commitment to make India a global power

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity towards Uttarakhand and in the last nine years the union government has approved projects worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore for the State. He was speaking in a programme organised to mark 77th Independence Day at Parade ground on Tuesday. The CM hoisted the national flag and felicitated the police personnel and officers on the occasion. Dhami said that we should display collective commitment to make India a global superpower.

 He said that the State has received Rs 83,000 crore for development of three railway stations in the State. Similarly work on Kedarnath reconstruction and Badrinath master plan are going on at a fast pace. The Dehradun airport Jollygrant is being upgraded to international level and a green field airport is being developed in Udham Singh Nagar. Dhami said that under regional connectivity of the union government heliports are being constructed at 13 spots. He claimed that the Uttarakhand integrated horticulture development project would prove to be a milestone in the field of horticulture in the State. The union government has also approved Rs 1600 crore Uttarakhand urban water supply project under which drinking water facility will be provided to 38 small towns. A Rs 952 crore Uttarakhand rain fed farming project has also been approved for the State. The CM said that the government of India has approved a Rs 1750 crore project for world class transport infrastructure for Dehradun and Mussoorie. Approval for Jamrani and Song dams has been given and a satellite centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh would come up in Udham Singh Nagar district.

 The CM said that the State government is working on the principle of simplification, solution, disposal and satisfaction. He claimed that qualitative improvement in the governance has occurred by Apani Sarkar portal, e- cabinet, e- office, CM helpline, right to service and transfer act. He said that the State is all set to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Dhami said that the new MSME policy has been implemented in the State and small hydropower policy and solar power policy have been activated to attract investment. The State has adopted a proactive approach for investment friendly policies and a global investor’s summit will also be organised. It will help in increasing the investment opportunities in the State. Dhami said that a new tourism policy has been put in place and work on Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission is going on to develop the old temples of Kumaon region on the lines of Char Dham Yatra. The approval of Haridwar- Rishikesh Ganga corridor has been given and the state is making rapid progress in the road, rail and ropeways with the help of the union government.

 The CM said that a majestic and grand Sainya Dham is coming up in Dehradun and the State government is absorbing one member from the families of martyrs in government jobs. The CM said that an increase in social welfare pensions has been made. He said the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 has been implemented in the State. The state government is providing loans up to Rs five lakhs at zero per cent interest to the farmers. The state government has set up the Uttarakhand investment and infrastructure development board to make its infrastructure world class. On the lines of NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand has set up a State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU). The State is planning to open 30 new incubation centres to encourage the youngsters to open start ups. The State government has freed 2765 acres of government land under its campaign against land Jihad.

Former CM Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Naresh Bansal, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Khajan Das, chief secretary S S Sandhu and others attended the programme.
