U’khand monsoon session likely from Sep 6

In latest news from Dehradun, the monsoon session of the Uttarakhand Assembly may commence on September 6 and things may be finalised at the cabinet meeting slated on August 24. Notably, the budget session was held at the summer capital of the State, Gairsain in March this year. Thereafter, no session has been held. But as per the Constitutional norms, the time gap between two Assembly sessions should not exceed six months. It is learnt from the officials privy to the development, a proposal to hold the monsoon session from September 6 to 12 may be placed at the next cabinet meeting scheduled on August 24. It is further learnt that a slew of proposals pertaining to education, health, revenue, housing and forest departments may be placed at the cabinet meeting.  Apart from this, discussions may be held on the bills and ordinances to be taken up during the upcoming Assembly session.  The State finance ministry sources informed that the State government may place the supplementary budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the monsoon session and the details of the supplementary budget are now being firmed up.
