Police nab three gold thieves

In latest news from Dehradun, Dehradun police arrested three persons for allegedly stealing 23 tola gold from a goldsmith shop located in Dhamawala bazaar. The police informed that one of the accused identified as Somnath Adhikary worked in the goldsmith shop as a mechanic. Sharing details, the Dehradun SSP Daleep Singh Kunwar said that they had started investigation into this stealing case based on the complaint lodged by the goldsmith Ajay Verma at the Lakhibag police station. As per the complaint, when Verma opened his shop on August 19 he found the 230 gm gold, given to the mechanic Somnath, missing. According to the SSP, the accused first reached Delhi and he along with his accomplice was to go to Mumbai to sell the stolen gold. A police team was constituted to nab the accused. Tracking his trail, the police team reached Delhi and based on the inputs received through the informers’ network, they nabbed him along with one of his accomplices at the Nizamuddin railway station and seized 20 tola gold from them. They were about to board a train to Mumbai. During interrogation, they told police that another person was also involved in the stealing. He was later arrested from Raja Road in Dehradun. Police recovered three tola gold from him.
