The State’s Rural Development minister Ganesh Joshi has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh for allocating 33,000 rural homes to Uttarakhand. He had made this demand for homes in the rural area citing the geographical conditions of the State. Joshi had told Singh that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), 46,000 out of a total of 73,000 homes had been allocated to Uttarakhand out of which the construction of 35,000 homes had been completed while work on the others is underway.
Thanking Singh, he had said that the funds for all the 46,000 homes had been received and that 26,000 more homes in rural areas should be allocated to Uttarakhand without delay. With the ministry allocating 33,000 rural homes under PMAY-G to Uttarakhand, Joshi thanked PM Modi, Singh and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
