A 15-day-long road safety and awareness campaign will be organised in all districts from September 1. This campaign will be organised under the joint aegis of the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) and all the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs), said the Officer on Special Duty of SLSA, Syed Gufran.
He said that all DLSAs conduct this campaign in coordination with respective district administration, traffic police, chief education officer, transport officers and school administrations to ensure maximum participation of people in the campaign. In these 15 days, authorities will conduct awareness camps in all major locations of urban and rural areas of districts. Besides this, awareness programmes regarding road safety will also be organised in schools and colleges.
The officials concerned will help in spreading the message of road safety by conducting essay competitions, painting and slogan writing competitions, radio talk shows and street plays among others. Gufran said that the authorities concerned must ensure that the message of the awareness campaign for road safety reaches the maximum number of people. This campaign is expected to make a difference in the lives of people regarding road safety which is one of the most sensitive issues in the State, he added.
