Himalaya is our heritage & future, says Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Himalayas affect a large population of the world and they are both the future and heritage of the people. Congratulating the people of the State on the occasion of Himalaya Day, the CM said that public participation is necessary in the conservation of Himalayas. Stressing on the need of protecting the Himalayas from environmental change, the CM said that social development is required in this region. He said that a balance between ecology and economy is needed to be maintained in the Himalayan region. Dhami said that the biodiversity of the Himalayas needs to be conserved.
The CM said that the Himalayas are important not only for any State or country but for the entire world. He opined that conservation of local culture, rivers and forests is needed for the conservation of Himalayas. Dhami said, “Environmental protection is in the nature of the people of the State and celebrations of festivals such as Harela outline the farsightedness of our forefathers.”
He called for a holistic deliberation on the environmental changes, global warming and subjects such as Jal (water), Jungle (forest) and Jameen (land). He said that combined effort and social awakening are keys for a solution for this problem.
