In latest Uttarakhand news, a mild earthquake with an intensity of 2.9 on Richter scale hit the Yamuna valley in Uttarakashi district in the wee hours. The epicenter of the tremblor was in the forests of Syalna village in Barkot tehsil. No loss of life and property was reported. The people said that they felt the tremor when they were in deep sleep and they rushed out of homes in panic. The tremor though short-lived was an intense one, they added.
