Following the lead given by the former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, a blood donation camp was organised at DIT University on Wednesday, keeping in view the acute blood scarcity being felt in the State in the wake of surging dengue cases. Rawat and many senior doctors were present during the camp. According to the office bearers of the university, around 150 students have donated blood in the camp.
While addressing the camp, the director, CMI Hospital Dr R K Jain said that the girls can raise their hemoglobin count by keeping their diet and daily routine balanced.
Exhorting the students to stay healthy to keep the society healthy, T S Rawat said that the society too must come forward to ensure that not a single death occurs due to blood scarcity. “When the Covid-19 struck, on the call of the Prime Minister, the whole of India came together to save the country from the clutches of the pandemic. This is the social responsibility of all of us. Along with blood donation, tree plantation, eye donation, organ donation and body donation are also the needs of the society today. And the youth must break free from societal strictures and play the pioneering role here,” the former CM said.
