DKC to conduct a programme on Jagar in Doon

With the objective of fostering and showcasing Uttarakhand’s rich folk art and culture, the Dandi Kanthi Club (DKC) will be organising a programme on September 17 to celebrate Jagar. Many local artists and officials will be present during the programme.
While addressing the media here on Friday, DKC president Vijay Bhushan Uniyal said that the organisation has consistently been dedicated to the promotion of diverse facets of folk art and culture. To uphold the tradition, they have decided to organise the Jagar conservation programme for the sixth consecutive year, taking place in the town hall. During the programme, the club will pay tribute to 11 individuals who have made remarkable contributions in various fields through the State musical instrument award in 2023. Further, four individuals will receive the Kanthi Ratna-2023 award during the event, he added
He further informed that during the programme, litterateurs, culture lovers of the State, representatives of various organisations and flag bearers of the folk culture of the state will participate in large numbers. The main objective of organising the programme is to preserve and promote folk art and culture to the State.
