Cheques & house keys presented to beneficiaries of various schemes on PM’s birthday

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented cheques to representatives of women self help groups under the rural livelihood mission and home approval letters, keys and cheques for Rs 6,000 each for kitchen utensils and other items to 11 beneficiaries under the PM Awas Yojana-Gramin at a function held at the CM residence on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Sunday. The CM presented cheques to 25 beneficiaries under NRLM. Ten 10 groups were presented cheques of Rs 75,000 each from the community investment fund, five groups were presented cheques of Rs 10,000 each from the revolving fund, 10 groups were presented cheques of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs six lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister prayed to Lord Badrinath and Lord Kedarnath for the wellbeing of PM Modi. He also thanked the PM for presenting houses to the people of Uttarakhand on his birthday. He said that there are many families for whom owning their own home is nothing short of a dream getting fulfilled. Providing pucca homes to the poor is not just a scheme but a commitment to make every deprived person believe that the government is committed to empower them. The government under PM Modi is making efforts to reach every poor citizen, said Dhami. “Under PM Modi’s leadership more than four crore pucca homes were provided to the poor during the past nine years. About 70 per cent of these homes are in the name of women. Under this scheme in Uttarakhand so far 36,299 homes have been constructed and a sum of Rs 609.24 crore has been transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries via DBT. The manner in which the exploited and deprived are being empowered in the nation today has never been seen so far. Uttarakhand is also achieving new heights of development under PM Modi’s guidance,” the CM said.
Rural Development minister Ganesh Joshi said that under Modi’s leadership all the schemes are being executed keeping the poor, deprived and women under consideration. Under the PM Awas Yojana-Gramin, the homes for 62,932 beneficiaries have been approved so far in Uttarakhand. While the construction of 36,299 homes has been completed the process for approval of homes for the remaining 12,079 beneficiaries is under process. The minister also spoked about the measures taken in the State for further empowering self help groups and other steps taken for economic and social uplift of women.
Rural Development secretary Radhika Jha, Rural Development commissioner Anand Swaroop and others were also present on the occasion.
