Eight-day Nanda Devi Mahotsav to conclude today

Sundarkand recitation and other activities were held as part of the 121s Nanda Devi Mahotsav here on Tuesday. The eight-day festival being organised by the Shri Ram Sewak Sabha is slated to conclude on Wednesday.
The idols of the goddesses Nanda and Sunanda will be taken on a procession of the city after which they will be immersed in the Naini lake today. Meanwhile, devotional songs were sung and dances were performed by troupes on Tuesday.
The various activities in the festival are also being broadcast on the local television channel and social media. From the live broadcast cell, talks were given on substance abuse, Ayushman card and ABHA identification card by department officials.
Forest conservator TR Biju Lal spoke about human-wildlife conflict. The district Panchayat chairperson Bela Toliya and senior superintendent of police Prahlad Narayan Meena also expressed their views. During the evening, the Panch Arti attracted a large number of devotees.
