All-India State T-20 cricket tourney begins in Doon

In latest news from Dehradun, the State cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the All-India State T-20 Cricket Tournament being organised by the Department Cricket Development Committee of Uttarakhand (DCDCU) in the Aryan Cricket Academy ground in Gajiyawala Dehradun. This is the first time that DCDCU is organising an all-India level cricket tournament which will continue till October 4. In all, eight teams, including the Central Secretariat and Secretariats of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are participating in this tournament. The objective of organising such tournament involving the secretariat personnel is to arouse health awareness among them under the Prime Minister-envisaged Fit India Movement. In his inaugural address, Joshi said that the Narendra Modi government is going all-out not just to boost sports but also to help the sportspersons enhance their sporting skills and techniques. He also lauded the efforts being made by the Pushkar Singh Dhami government in the direction of churning out new sports talents through giving a slew of incentives like providing the budding players with stipends.
