21 new cases reported, active dengue cases drop to 267

There was a considerable drop in the number of new dengue cases reported in the State on Monday. The Health department reported 21 new cases of the vector-borne disease with the total number of active cases also having dropped to 267. The cumulative number of dengue cases in the State is 2,788 out of which 2,505 patients have recovered. Out of the 21 cases reported on Monday, 10 were reported from Nainital district, six from Dehradun and five from Haridwar. No new cases were reported from the 10 remaining districts. Dehradun has remained on top of the tally of dengue cases with 981 cases reported so far. Similarly, the cumulative number of dengue cases in other districts is 639 in Pauri, 462 in Haridwar, 441 in Nainital, 85 in Udham Singh Nagar, 57 in Chamoli, 45 in Champawat, 25 in Rudraprayag, 23 in Bageshwar, 21 in Tehri and nine in Almora. No cases have been reported so far in Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts. Out of the 16 dengue patients who have died so far, 13 died in Dehradun district while three deaths were reported in Nainital district.
